Personality

What personality type is Ben Solo “Kylo Ren”? Ben Solo “Kylo Ren” is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 4w3 - sx/sp - 468 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.

[1/3] The amount of mistypes I've seen on this page is downright atrocious lmao, and it's not even funny. Just because Kylo is aggressive, ill-tempered and emotionally unstable it doesn't necessarily mean he's an SX4 or an ISFP, especially high Se. I wanted to point out some of the misunderstandings regarding his typing for a while now, so here we go haha. First off, I do think Kylo Ren is FiNi INFP in Myers, definitely Fi dominant as he weighs events and things based off an internal judgement of personal statements and most of his decisions are driven by personal sentiment. As for his auxiliary function, according to Myers's classic theory of IIEE/EEII, I would say he fits FiNi more than anything else. His internal sentimental rationale and judgement is met with a subjective inner realm of abstractions and metaphysical impressions, which is pretty clear in his view of reality, the struggle between the Jedi and Sith, as well as his role as the Master of the Knights of Ren. Many on this page see him as a Sexual 4, but I'd beg to differ in this particular scenario. I think Kylo is more of a Social 4, and I'd deffo go for SO/SX 4. He's not particularly driven by the competitive and hateful envy of SX4s in all the movies, in fact I see more of the Social 4's intellectualism and coping with his internal sense of suffering and shame with intellectuality and a fabricated image of self. To go even more in-depth, Ben Solo's persona of "Kylo Ren" is in fact his idealized image of self after he turns to the Dark Side, even though it's a massive delusion on his part, as it's clearly obvious that his true nature betrays this construct, as well as his pull to the Light and his inner conflict. He sees himself as the heir apparent to Darth Vader which is something Snoke/Palpatine noticed and exploited in him, feeding his delusions further. This right here is peak Social Instinct enneagram, the intellectualization and social orientation of the self. Even in his interactions with Han and Leia, it becomes quite clear how "Kylo Ren" is just a persona he chooses to indulge in as a coping mechanism against his shame and envy, and overall feelings of suffering. Aside from that, even though he's pretty aggressive (which could be explained fairly well by ELVF and 3V honestly), he lacks the drive and ignorance of shame that most SX4s have. "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?" "Forgive me... I feel it again. The pull to the Light. The Supreme Leader senses it." "I'm being torn apart... I want to be free of this pain..." "I've given everything I had to you... to the Dark Side." Throughout the movies it becomes quite clear how Ben uses the Kylo Ren persona as a coping mechanism and an idealized self image against his pain and shame of self, justifying his actions by separating himself from his real self and indulging in the alter ego of Kylo Ren. As for his tritype, I think 1 fix makes much, much more sense than 8 fix. Many people often forget that E8 doesn't equate to anger and aggression. In fact that's more reminiscent of the whole concept of E1, whose Passion is LITERALLY Anger, LMAO. Kylo's rage and anger is more of the E1's typical resentment and perfectionist mindset towards himself, towards others. When his ideals or goals aren't met, he lashes out, becomes rageful. He doesn't exactly have the impulsive hedonism of E8s, but more of the mental rigidity and adherence to ideologies of E1. His Sociotype is pretty correct indeed, IEI and Ni Base makes a ton of sense with how he induldges in a fabricated inner world created by his "Kylo Ren" alter ego. He's quite literally defined by this inner world which he indulges in time and time again, a subjective mental abstraction based on a fabricated persona in which he chooses to hide from himself and from others. For this exact reason, I'd type him IN(F) in Jung as well, as Jungian Ni goes hand in hand with this. No way would Kylo be a rational type, there's just no way lol.
