𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗡𝗙𝗣, 𝗹𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗡𝗲 (𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻): Is always looking for new possibilities and alternatives. His ability to improvise and find creative solutions in high-pressure situations is a Ne trademark. In Part 1, Ellie constantly seeks to explore the world beyond the restrictions of her environment. Her dreams, imaginations of traveling and seeing the world, even in the midst of an apocalypse, scream Ne, not Fi-Se or Ni. 𝗙𝗶 (𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴): Ellie has a strong sense of identity and inner values. From his fight for justice to his deep sense of loyalty and love, we see how his personal values drive his actions. His internal conflict and struggle with forgiveness in Part 2 are classic Fi, showing a deep introspective and emotional process. 𝗧𝗲 (𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻): Although Ellie does not always show it in an obvious way, when faced with difficult situations such as when Joel was injured in 1. Ellie had to analyze in the moment and apply the most functional thing for Joel to recover from his injury, her Te active. Her mission of revenge carried out with a determination and organization reflecting an underlying unhealthy use of Te. She rationalizes every action or decision she takes. Not everything is due to simple hatred or negative emotions, as when in part 1 Ellie continues with her goal of going to sacrifice herself, believing that it is the way for everyone to use her as an end to achieving a cure tomorrow. Each step that follows plans how to go towards his goal of revenge together with different characters from part 2 Ellie growing up in a post-apocalyptic world would obviously not fully show her Ne-Fi-Te as the classic "ENFP clown/ideas everywhere/chronic procrastinator" that is so overexploited in the film industry by characters like Michael Scott, Jim Carrey or Robin Williams that people are so used to seeing. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗜𝗦𝗙𝗣? Fi-Se: Unlike Thorfinn and Eren Yeager who are 100% Fi dom, Ellie doesn't focus solely on her inner values to act impulsively in the moment. Her constant exploration and her ability to see multiple possibilities, ideas for revenge (Ne) clearly set her apart. Ellie doesn't have a singular, obsessive long-term vision like Eren to take down her enemies. "Oh but-but bro, Ellie throughout the game is very vengeful and never lets go of said revenge having that as a central vision, that's why it's Ni no Te" I'll pretend I didn't read that comment to respond that you clearly haven't been paying attention to the Ellie Williams story. Since she was little, the poor girl already had problems with anxiety and feeling misunderstood, of course any child who loses someone close to her would lose all her sanity to end up with the person who ruined everything she had. Ellie is full of ideas on how she could pursue her goal, keeping the past in her mind in detail based on ideas and experiences. This is a Ne-Si grip. Examples of this Ellie from TLOU1: "Everyone I've ever known has died or abandoned me" (Her mind fills with ideas about what fictional scenarios could happen without knowing exactly what could happen.) Ellie in her least vengeful state learns to let go of revenge through beatings, impulsive decisions and to rationalize her own actions by drastically changing her decision as a matter of ideas. If Ellie really had a little Ni and a much higher Fi she would have given a damn about having finished off all her enemies without so many problems, since we are talking about a clear and concise vision, not a feeding of concepts to act according to voters of ISFPS, ask Thorfinn and Eren if they would change their decision to carry out their revenge at the last minute because of a flashback from a year ago LOL. We must differentiate between a Ne-Si and Fi-Ni motivation. Let's make things clear, Ellie is the most realistic ENFP representation ever written, at least in video games, how she slowly develops her lower Si until she resembles an ISTJ like Joel in the second part is poetically epic. Anyone who says otherwise is insulting the cognitive functions instead of being based on the objective. Only these Fi users, upon seeing an extremely unhealthy and traumatized character, feel for some reason identified with her, making an "ISFP" vote bomb. Not all Se users are the typical impulsive, athletic ones while Ne users are the forgetful, book-eating fools. Let's stop fools stereotypes please.
Biography
Having been born after the fungal infection had already collapsed modern civilization as we know it, Ellie doesn't know a life aside from the high walls of the quarantine zone. She was raised in perpetual fear. This, of course, sparks within her an obsession with relics from the past culture, such as books and music. This, too, leads to troublesome times at the boarding house she resides in. As it turns out, she's actually immune to the fungus and the Fireflies want her to make a vaccine.
