Personality

What personality type is Caligula? Caligula is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, - sx/sp - 712 in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.

No way this guy is EIE over ILE, seems to be just based on either "EIE = edgy" stereotype or the real person being typed EIE by the WSS, despite how he doesn't seem to care as much as Fe base for emotional expression or the emotional atmosphere around him and is way too focused on creating logical laws and systems to justify his actions to be Ti suggestive; it's emphasized many times in the play that rather than being completely lacking in logical systems like an EIE would he is rather too logical, too "sane", at the complete expense of Fi. There is some Fe provoking people and seeing their reactions, though at other times he seems cold and uncaring about Fe at all, which could point to it being the erratic mobilizing function. Add to that how his whole motivation is to see the potential in things, "the impossible" that other people miss due to not being free in life (strong and valued Ne!), and as a result acts purposefully without any goal rather than having a clear vision of how he wants the future to play out that he uses force like a Ni/Se valuer would. Concerning Enneagram he is an archetypical sx 7, he shows a lot of 7's constant frustration with the world and gluttony for more, to avoid pain by running towards more freedom and more experiences, which in the sx subtype is expressed as gluttony for ideas and dreams and "suggestibility" towards the impossible. Too idealistic, dreamy and frustrated to be something like an 8. He also displays the intellectual nature of 7 with its defense mechanism of rationalization (of the fulfillment of their gluttony), constantly playing logical games to explain why he is justified in chasing his gluttony without concern for any other human being. There's also a quote by Naranjo on 7s in C&N that describes him well, describing how 7s are irresponsible, and due to their narcissism they think this irresponsibility is a virtue, it makes them like a god who is above such things. Caligula says almost exactly that, that by pursuing his gluttony he is playing the role of a god and being above all other people in freedom. I also gave him a 1 fix for double frustration and his tendencies to sharply criticize and control other people that don't measure up to his standards, plus a last 2 fix (though I'm less certain on the last fix) for showing elements of pride.
