Jingliu MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Jingliu? Jingliu is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/sx - 461 in Enneagram, RCOEN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.
The past drives Jingliu’s character, so it’s fitting that she’s an Si-dom. Her companion quest is literally her indulging in her Si by exploring familiar sensory environments that elicit her memories. We can see the way her memories of the Scalegorge Waterscape overlay her perception of the actual place itself, how her mind instinctively remembers how the quintet used to bond there. When she sees Dan Heng’s spear skill, she immediately sees Dan Feng reflected in it. In some Q&A character intro thing I saw on Reddit, Jing Yuan claims that they never became close and March remarks that Jingliu never shares where she came from and where she’s going. I’d argue this is Jungian Fi — driven by sentiment that remains hidden, unexpressed. If we take the Myriad Celestia trailer as one that’s from her POV, we can see how she views Yanqing through the lens of her own past. The dialogue also shows how she once taught Jing Yuan swordplay as she saw the similarities between them (She’d also once asked why another chose the sword). That feels very Si to me. She follows a very strong code of honour. Note that most of her actions are ones of service. “Whoever wishes to learn my swordplay, I will teach them.” Even using her blade against Yanqing because she believes she is obligated to wield the blade in this way. An idiosyncratic code of morality suggests Fi. Overall, I’d argue for Si-Fi ISTJ. Some Te is valued in her respect for her oath as a Cloud Knight and perhaps her former allegiance to them and its hierarchies suggests Te. Inferior Ne in her inability to move forward. As for E1, well, she clearly admits that anger and resentment have become the driving forces behind her continued existence. Her anger is a righteous one against the quintet and Yaoshi, suggesting E1 > E8. Furthermore, her quest for unparalleled skill in swordplay also suggests some degree of the E1 pursuit of perfection.
