What personality type is Intellectual (Sensor)? Intellectual (Sensor) is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - so/sp - 513 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
When you break down the meaning of intellectualism and correlate that with functions and MBTI, it is definitely an ISTP 5(Again this is for sensors only, not just intuitives). I will also break down the functions of the other two sensor types that tend to be popular choices here ISTP: Ti-Se-Ni-Fe ISTJ: Si-Te-Fi-Ne ESTJ: Te-Si-Ne-Fi I'll start by saying that intellectualism is about more than just having knowledge, but knowing what to do with said knowledge in an effort to solve complex problems, or perhaps use it to better understand "abstract concepts" in order to gain an understanding of the both detail and the big picture. This is stereotypical Ti if I'm being honest, which is already a massive point for ISTP. The reason why Te doesn't work here is because its primary focus is on already proven facts, statistics, information, etc. It doesn't really account for the intricacies behind said information and it's many variables.... especially if not paired well with an intuitive function. The sensing functions don't really matter to much here on the topic of intellectualism... as both can be interpreted as "different areas of expertise" when exploring the realm of intelligence. Next is the intuitive functions. ESTJs have Tert Ne while ISTPs have Tert Ni. By definition Ne would be slightly more aligned with the concept of intellectualism but it doesn't really negate Ni enough to say ESTJ would be more correlated with intellectualism. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Ti-Ni seems more aligned to intelligence than Te-Ne... but admittedly this will depend on the angle at which you view the meaning intelligence. Finally the feeling functions... not really seeing how Fi correlated with this at all .. but I think I can make a case for Fe and emotional intelligence... but being an inferior Fe user myself I'm not sure if I'm best qualified to talk about what role that plays in intellectualism lol.
