Well in reality I think when it comes to intellectualism, it has to be the type that can understand and making their own thinking conclusions (Ti) without relying or referencing on much of objective data (Te), that's obviously quicker in the field site. As I work/study in electrical engineering field, I see more Ti users - ISTP, ESTP than Te users - ESTJ, ISTJ. So in this field, both type of thinking is important of course, but in experience Ti>Te because they can make decision quickly and adapting on the field within very short time (of course they don't always go with the standards of the field like Te users, but yeah there's always a tradeoff). Te dom like ESTJs can be adapting, but speaking as ISTJ with inferior Ne, I know it's quite stretching us to adapt to new things. So if I have to rank, yes it's Ti>Te, ISTP - ESTP / ESTJ , ISTJ would go last. So i don't see many ISTJ in this field (well I choose this because my dad's company, his typing ESTJ 8w9 so/sp 835, so he has done a lot of engineering work throughout his life), but I see too many ISTPs 5 6, ESTPs 7, ESTJs sometimes, and sometimes xNTPs xNTJs, and sometimes Core 8s with their enterprenue spirit and "can do" attitude - can go far in this field. And for the sensor feeling types, ISFJs would be a close call to the thinking types above. As ISTJ with Te, I've seen ISFJs use their Ti to solve intellectual problems (like math, programming...) quicker and more brilliant than me, sometimes I couldn't be that quick or simply not focus enough (it's not just about the Ti Te function but also the ones use it after all). ESFJ, ISFP and ESFP might not be types come to mind to be good in intellectualism, but every developed healthy human being can do everything they want and they can, it's not limiting to sensors, intuitives or typing systems in general. Those are just barometers, real people are much more than that. Speaking in reality, my father ESTJ with his Te dom and balance Si-Ne can be terrific with his knowledge, can understand and connect things quickly and explain it clear to people around in the field site - which is not the thing I can naturally do due to inf Ne and of course - lack of experience Si. So actually if I can wish something for my MBTI I wish I can use Ne better like an ESTJ 😅😂. I can use Ne but it's when the situation in the field calls it, and it's not my natural element much like Si I use like breathing, so it's obviously a less developed and unbalanced function. I incorporate Si - Ne in my learning, which is absorbing Si-Te data and then summarize it with Ne, and criticize it with Ti to see that knowledge is reasonable and applicable or not. So just in that way, I can still develop weaker functions like Ti, Ne. And last thing I want to say, being in this EE field as an ISTJ, I have to work as twice as hard (figuratively speaking) - basically working for more hours... and stuff, more than an usual Ti users (both sensors and intuitives), because my functions though can do detailed and repetitive work well, but not really facilitate to further advanced problems in EE fields like troubleshooting in real time... and stuff - which is easy like breathing for Ti users, Intuitives, higher Ne users... they can do this within a flinch, draw conclusions very quickly. All of this is my thoughts and experiences, I just objectively admit ISTJ natural cognitive downfalls, and admit that Si doms have to work harder to gain the "experience" to become "experts" in the field.
