What personality type is Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy? Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - - in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.
She’s 100% INFJ. But in a Ni-Ti loop, they can seem like ISTPs but they are way more inclined to strategise things coldly instead of really thinking about how their actions affect others. All of the persona she builded was related to people. Everyone was seeing her as that kind hearted spirit that was loved by kids and so on. That the shell (Ni-Fe). And she seemed to have that voracious need to control the emotions of others around her to define herself based on their reactions. Being a good employee, a good wife, a good friend, a good person to kids. Those are archetypes with which NiFe likes to work with. But of course, unlike ENFJ, it is selective, it goes through Ni first. I think she was outwardly composed and nice (NiFe) to cover her calculating and explosive side (TiSe). I love that theory that says that our MBTI types are just an engineering made to protect the inferior function that is an extreme weak point because it is intense. Therefore for her, it took Ni,Fe,Ti to protect her boiling Se. But I think that she was an unhealthy INFJ of course. I really think she strategise her way to JFK Jr. I am even sure she did, when you look at her dating pattern she always had that drive for the warm kind of guy who would do anything for her and she purposely was always one foot in one foot out to ensure she would still have one foot to hold herself in place if things went wrong. Ni-Se grip (I need to keep my options open (Se) to be able to get what I want (Ni). I might be wrong but I really don’t think an ISTP would be able to think that dating JFK Jr is an end in itself. They would rationalise with “that’s not how reality works, I’m nobody” or be more like “why do I have to be like everyone else lusting over that guy? I am independent, I will build that legacy myself” Whereas an INFJ “I am going to marry that man, no matter what”. They get fixated on an idea IN RELATION TO PEOPLE. And then when things get tricky they are leading with their inferior function Se PRETTY BADLY and everything is about controlling reality (bleaching hair to appear more innocent, taking drugs to feel better, anorexia to look like you have control, boiling and screaming to asses power). I think she really was INFJ. A pretty unhealthy one though, bc understanding other feelings wasn’t a weak spot, it was a strength, but she used it to get what she wanted for herself (Ni). But reality (Se) and concept (Ni) are REALLY different which explains her decay when she realised what it was like to live with the son of JFK…

Carolyn Jeanne Bessette-Kennedy (January 7, 1966 – July 16, 1999) was a publicist for Calvin Klein and the wife of John F. Kennedy Jr. After her marriage, Bessette-Kennedy's relationship with her husband and her fashion sense became the subjects of media scrutiny, drawing comparisons to her mother-in-law Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The couple and Bessette-Kennedy's older sister, Lauren, died in a plane crash off the coast of Martha's Vineyard in July 1999.
