Personality
What personality type is Yoon A-Yi? Yoon A-Yi is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - - 613 in Enneagram, RLUAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.
INFP in a fi-si-te loop. at the first part in the series she was shown as someone who is very ambitious at school. she was clearly doing it bcs of money and a chance for securing a good future ( some young INFPs have very developed si and can come off as si doms, they often use their tertiary function at surface level when INFPs still have not found their passion ). she was left alone with her sister to take care of and her only option was to survive and earn money as much as she can whilst still being a young teenager. having this stress at such a young age can really change the trajectory of someone's life and mess up the improvement of the desired function stack. i can only speak from my experience as an INFP myself, but i grew up with an environment where there was no space for self exploration and dreams at all. i can see yoon ayi suppressing the other function's functions and focusing on the more practical ones to survive in the real world. sometimes the surroundings that influences a person can morph themselves into something else. this still doesnt change the fact that their function stack is fi ne si te and it will show even in a tiny glimpse of action no matter what the situation occurs. through the episodes we can see yoon a-yi clearly distressed about how much she has to work at her age despite knowing she has to do it for the sake of her sister. her act of always revisiting her past to entertain the thought that if her parents never left at all would everything have been alright? just shows that she havent fully accepted reality yet and is still hoping that her mother would come back to them and maybe make things alright. she also always imagines herself in a fake scenario that is completely different from her reality where she's happy and everything's okay. ( young INFPs always make fake scenarios in their head and yoon a-yi uses it to cope with her sadness; she wants to be happy ) her only form of escape was the magician and she wants to believe in him but she also knows that she has to go back to reality and help her sister. the clash between Fi dom ( idealism ) and Te inf ( practicality ) makes INFPs inner morals rlly difficult and messy. sometimes they have to go with the option that is best for everyone and leave themselves out and this is something hard for them to do. but as the episodes goes by we can see yoon ay-i is starting to use her functions well. when no one believed the magician, she was the only one who stood up for him, she knew that every moment with him was real, even the magic and none of those who were criticizing him really knew who he was. she started to accept her past, followed her passion of becoming a magician, and changed a lot of her beliefs and morals. she knew that the problem was the boring adults and she doesnt want to be like them. she believed in the world and in magic again and she can believe in herself that she can be happy too. my fav quotes from her in the series that i think is very INFP-y: "Beneath my desire to fly, there is a me that knows i cant fly" "Someday in the future will I be happy like in a pretty fairy tale?" "A dream that will bloom someday, a dream that will bloom right now i must bury it in my heart and live through today " "I’m someone who’s been in the dark for awhile so I don’t really need the light. I feel that we have no choice but to live life in our own way" "I want to hide for a little while under the shadow of dream-like magic" "When I pretended to give up with my head down there were words hanging at the tip of my feet maybe, just maybe something unbelievable might happen to me" “I want to be a grown-up, so immature adults no longer have any control over my life.” “Since when did this world become a place where even dreams have to meet a standard?” “At some point, the world became a place people like you can’t live in. Because if you don’t meet the set standards, you are treated like a failure.” “You’re a real magician because you made me believe in magic.” “His magic wasn’t able to make all of my misfortune go away, but I know the power of magic that he showed me.” "That was something close to magic, me believing in the world once more" from the magician! "Everything was always here. You couldn’t see because you’ve forgotten. Your eyes sometimes deceive the world. Just because something is hidden in the dark doesn’t mean that it’s gone" “What you need now is someone to listen to your story.” “You think and think and think only inside your own mind, and never let it out. No wonder your heart gets heavier and heavier.” “You should do whatever it is you want to do just as much as the things you don’t want to do.” "It hurts because you seem so comfortable leaning back into sadness" “At least you get to smile, even only for a moment.” this is a show that clearly focuses on the growth of yoon a-yi. who lost her hopes and dreams and the magician helping her regain her childlike self and believe in something again
