This argument is not from me, but from a site called Funky Mbti in Fiction: Introverted Feeling (Fi): Poussey is a deeply emotional person. She finds herself lost in prison without a sense of purpose and finds comfort in Norma’s group and their beliefs. When the group takes on a life of its own, Poussey cannot stay with it anymore and disassociates herself with the group. Her moral code is what puts her at odds with Vee because Poussey won’t go along with her ideas and Vee is able to prey upon her her unrequited feelings for Taystee. Despite the cliques within the prison, Poussey is shown to cross lines and offers her sympathies to Nicky Nichols after the death of Tricia Miller, showing her ability to buck social norms. She justifies being in prison for dealing marijuana by saying it’s “not the real shit” like more hardcore street drugs. Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Poussey is immediately angered when Taystee is put back in Litchfield for violating her parole because Poussey sees that Taystee had an opportunity to return to her life where as Poussey still had to serve out her sentence. Poussey is quick to assess situations and see it in different angles: she sees how Vee is toxic, she sees the potential of Norma’s group in enriching her life, and she can adapt to how things change. Introverted Sensing (Si): Poussey does have traditional values as instilled in her by her military brat upbringing. She looks back fondly on the memories of her mother and values her upbringing, proudly telling people where she got her name and correcting them for mispronouncing it. When the group dynamic is disrupted by Vee in season two, Poussey lashes out and trashes Vee’s supply in order to bring an end to Vee’s reign. It devastates her when Taystee turns her back on her in favor of Vee and Poussey becomes volatile in season two. Extroverted Thinking (Te): When push comes to shove, Poussey can make objective assessments of her environment. She stands up to Vee, telling her that she’s “like a pedophile without the sex” in how she preyed on her friends. When Norma’s following excommunicates Soso and it leads to her attempted suicide, Poussey is the only one to stand up for Soso and call the group members out on their bullying.
