What personality type is Buzz Lightyear? Buzz Lightyear is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - sp/so - 316 in Enneagram, RCOEN in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.
Clear Te-dom. The way he always charges ahead focusing on accomplishing his goal is very typical of dominant Te. His inferior Fi comes through in how he takes on the full burden of getting everyone home on only himself - he is so focused on this mission that he neglects his own needs and never self-reflect on his own desires. It also comes through in how he doesn't want to talk about his feelings - he only wants to complete his goal and he will onyly feel good once he completes his goal (in the beginning of the movie). He only becomes more in touch with his Fi through his teammates, allowing him to become more vulnerable and rely on others more. Now, further arguments as to why I think he has auxillary Si instead of dominant Si. Yes, he doesn't like to go against protocal, but he doesn't hesitate to break the rules when needed. He is also more openminded to solutions than I suspect a Si-dom would be, like when Izzy suggested how they might retrieve a new cord and he was instantly on board as soon as he saw it accomplished his goals. He is also much quicker on his feet (in terms of thinking out solutions) than I suspect a Si-dom would be.
