What personality type is Cooper Connelly? Cooper Connelly is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - so/sp - in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
This guy is neither ISTJ nor 1w9. People should stop typing everyone that is responsible and likes their jobs as Te. That's just plain stereotype. Cooper does not show Te, but shows a lot of Fe. He never favors efficiency over pleasing others, he never does that in his work and does not do it in his personal life either. He is a pleaser-puppy that gets happy when everyone is happy with him and when the environment is peaceful and in harmony. He is all about learning what other people like so they will not dislike him. When he reads Billie's diary, the first thing he does is to instantly aknowledge what she would like him to do (a.k.a. the same thing she wrote that her ex did to her) and then he proceeds to do exactly that. He's obviously uncomfortable with that 'cause that does not fit his personality, but he does not think of this even for a second, he just does what she wants him to do, since he does not understand his own feelings and they're not important to him, because her feelings come first ('cause he has no Fi). It shows how he always knows how she feels, but is only slowly getting closer to his own feelings (example: he throws up after thinking about his wife having sex with another dude, but does not know why he is feeling bad and keeps acting like nothing happened just so she wouldn't get upset). He is also too emotionally dependent on Billie to be an enneagram 1. 1s when stressed tend to get really moody, so someone with tertiary Fi (therefore Fe blindspot) and enneagram 1 would never instantly be like "Oh, my wife is thinking about another guy's d*** after I've spent my life being the perfect partner for her, THAT MUST BE MY FAULT! Let's just be even nicer to her now!", even if their wing is a 9. If he were an ISTJ enneagram 1w9, he would probably overwork himself to forget about what he's seen or throw a tantrum at Billie. Enneagram 1 is also pretty critical of other's mistakes and we never see this guy throwing a single critic to anyone, he literally just wants to please. So it makes more sense for him to be enneagram 6w5. As said, he uses his knowledge to please the person he is dependent on and loyal to (Billie). When in good environments, enneagram 6 grows to 9 and that's why he is in all that "let's save the world" and "cure cancer" vibe at the beginning talking to people in a job he likes and that he feels accepted and liked (that's Fe with enneagram 6 growing to 9). On the other hand, when 6s are stressed they descend to unhealthy 3, becoming competitive in bad ways, and that's why when he learns about Billie's thoughts on her ex, he wants to copycat the guy and do everything that he did in order to please Billie more than the other guy did (that's Fe with enneagram 6 stressing to 3). Therefore, I'd say he is pretty clearly ISFJ enneagram 6w5. I really wish to know the arguments for ISTJ 1w9, 'cause as I said, I see none.
