(1/2) I just wanted to come on here and comment before everyone raced to type this man some random, stereotype just because he constantly mentioned his integrity in that podcast. I saw it happen with Chapelle and the ENFP typing he was given, so I thought I would jump in early. With that said, everything I saw in the interview was classic ENTP behavior. We all have different criteria for typing, so to get an idea of where I’m coming from, you can check the two documents in my profile. The primary axis of an ENTP is NeFe. This should not be mistaken for the FeNe that is used by xSFJs. FeNe is about taking action to shape and modify Fe structures as far as the user can predict, hence the Ne attached to it. It’s an action axis. It’s why ESFJs in particular can seem overbearing. NeFe is an observational axis and is used to observe evolving group dynamics. Action axes are like artists. They are fantastic at what they do, but because they are driven to create and mold, they can’t fully take in the “art” in its purest form. Observational axes are like “art critics” or connoisseurs. Everything is taken in in its purest form and analyzed. It’s not the ExFJs that are masters of reading the room, but the ExTPs with the most adept being the ENTP. This came up countless times in that interview with Katt Williams. Listen to what he said of his takedown of the female radio host. Paraphrasing, he said, I could not attack her hair because that would offend all black women with similar hair. I had to be careful in attacking her size, because his battle was not with all women of her size. This is where the ESTP and ENTP differ. Using SeFe, the ESTP often aren’t as adept at navigating group dynamics beyond what’s in front of them. This is why they get into trouble. They would have been far more likely to go after those things without concern for offending people who also fit those criteria. Something else I saw was that he was bewildered and amused that she didn’t realize her comments would offend a whole city of gay men when they make up so much of her audience. HE saw it through NeFe, but that was lost to her. He also mentioned throughout that likes to watch people. If you really listen to him, this isn’t the kind of “watching” done by INTJ. When we watch, we are trying to see deep inside to the you untouched by outside influence. Think of the criminal psychologist that studies people case by case. Many people think INFJ excel here, but it’s the actually the INTJ that do better. INFJ are great at figuring out how the individual thinks with NiTI. INTJ are better at discerning that inner moral compass with NiFi. The ENTP is more adept at watching groups and the masses. INTJ learn people inside out. ENTP learn people outside in. Now, the integrity part. I think the reason so many people have issues with this is because Fi (and Ni) are so misunderstood. To put it simply, Fi is an inborn moral compass. No, it does not mean the person has “good” morals. It simply means that what they think is right or wrong when dealing with SUBJECTIVE matters comes from within. You can go to a prison and talk to a serial ki!!er and they may have things they think are immoral. “Hey, I may off people, but I don’t steal!” WTF? For whatever reason, certain things have been deemed wrong, right, valuable and invaluable by them without any outside interference. That’s Fi. Fe is an informed moral compass. These are the things that gain value and are deemed right/wrong based on experience, group dynamics and otherwise learned behaviors. It doesn’t mean these morals matter less to you. You just adopted them differently. With that said, what does it mean to be an Fi or Fe type? Fi types, in various amounts, build their moral compass from within. The most susceptible to Fe are ExFP types, with the least susceptible being IxTJ types, hence the term Fe-blind. Likewise, IxFJ are the most susceptible to Fi intrusions, while ExTP are least susceptible to them, hence the term Fi-blind. Okay, how can you tell Katt Williams is Fi-blind? You have to analyze how he discusses his decision making. What’s interesting about ExTP is that they often insert Ti, an inborn logic system, in place of Fi. You can explain Fi to them from morning to night and they will say they get it, but they don’t fully GET IT. It’s like they truly believe if they prove to you that your Fi stance is illogical, you will move on from it. In reality, there is nothing logical about Fi to begin with. It just is. It’s like trying to reason with someone why their favorite color is incorrect or their favorite food shouldn’t be what it is. It doesn’t work because the stance was never made from logic. It’s a visceral reaction that you innately feel strongly about. You may go back and try to find logic in that stance to make it more palpable for others, but that has nothing to do with you, personally. It just is.
