What personality type is Eula? Eula is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - sp/sx - 136 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LSE in Socionics.
I really don't think she is a 1. First of all, 1s follow some set of rules that usually have some connection to what they learned in their childhood, they are rigid and strictly follow what they believe and that's the opposite of Eula's character. 1 is a compliant type and the compliant style of 1s is basically about being perceived as "perfect" and morally superior so no one can criticize them, which again goes completely against everything Eula does as she wants people to perceive her as evil instead of morally good. The most relevant characteristic of 1s is their moral compass and along with wing 9 they are pretty idealistic as seen on Diluc for example: ❝I've become stronger... Though it is still not enough, I will always face the darkness. For dawn to come, there must be those who dare to pierce the darkness with their light❞ a pretty idealistic view about morallity which is very frequent on his quotes. Eula does show her views on what she believes is right or wrong but it doesn't even come close to being that relevant to her as it would be to an enneagram 1. For example: ➟ ❞Since I'm a genuine Knight of Favonius, I fulfill my duties like any other self-respecting individual would. Look, I may be a descendant of a disgraced ruling elite, but I'm not a total degenerate!❞ While she does care about her duties and views, it's not as close to being a moral compass to guide her life but rather just... her view. It's more like a gut feeling of what seems right in that moment instead of a moral compass. She shows her views plenty of other times as when she was discussing with her uncle at the end of her quest but again the discussion isn't about what would be moral or the right thing to do, just what Eula believes is right. So, I think she is an 8. Let's look at this description of 8 in the book Wisdom of the Enneagram: "In fact, beneath their imposing exterior, Eights often feel hurt and rejected, although this is something they seldom talk about because they have trouble admitting their vulnerability to themselves, let alone to anyone else. Because they fear that they will be rejected (divorced, humiliated, criticized, fired, or harmed in some way), Eights attempt to defend themselves by rejecting others first. The result is that average Eights become blocked in their ability to connect with people or to love since love gives the other power over them, reawakening their Basic Fear." That seems pretty much the way Eula found to deal with the rejection she suffers. As she said when talking with Paimon: ➟ ❝Listen, you've never been labeled as a social pariah, have you? So that's why you wouldn't understand how hard it is for a bad person to try to be good. It's impossible for me and I have no intention of acting like a good person.❞ Even though she says afterward she was kidding, I think it's implied that the reason she acts like that is in fact because she knows that it doesn't matter what she does the people of Mondstadt will reject her, so she just pretends to be "evil" to take this rejection in her control, therefore, making others reject her instead of waiting for them to do it first. Amber is the closest person to her and even with her Eula has difficulty being honest about her feelings and intentions. She has trouble showing she cares about someone as seen when the traveler asks if Amber would escape her vengeance: ❝Of course not! It's hard to find someone in Mondstadt that attracts contempt as much as she does.❞ even if she meant the contrary. ➟ "When conflict arises, Eula fights back with a sternly worded threat to indicate that she will remember this grievance and make the offending party pay for it one day. It seems to work like a magic spell, because as soon as these words are uttered, the conflict ceases immediately without ever having to escalate to the level of an all-out confrontation." This description pretty much resembles some 8w9 characteristics, since when she threatens someone it's a way of putting a strong front to not be disturbed but also seeking to cease the conflict.
