What personality type is Toby Smith (Tubbo)? Toby Smith (Tubbo) is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/so - 692 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.

Alright, it’s time for me to crack this profile open. I don’t think Tubbo is an ISFJ. I think this mistype began for two reasons. First, because of Tubbo’s character on the DreamSMP (who I will not be typing, I’m talking about the CC here!) Second, because of the way Tubbo contrasts Tommy. Tubbo is seen as the clingier, more expressive one in their friendship. And while it’s true that Tubbo has more Si & Fe than Tommy, that doesn’t say much... And it doesn’t necessarily make him an ISFJ. My best guess for his type is INTP (Ti > Ne > Si > Fe). Notice how it has the same functions as ISFJ (Si > Fe > Ti > Ne), just in a different order. First and foremost, let’s address why his Si isn’t dominant, but rather tertiary. From what I’ve seen, people cite reclusion, nostalgia and sharp memory as examples of dominant Si in Tubbo. And while all these could be attributed to the function, this Si usage is rudamentary and basic. It makes sense for Tubbo as Si is the child function in the INTP stack. Many INTPs/INFPs stick to a routine, have strong attachment to the past, etc. Even with Tubbo’s good memory, Ti has a heavy emphasis on facts too. A combination of high Si & Fe would typically suggest a tame, easygoing person who would not want to cause problems or challenge an existing system, at least not without a significant amount of develoment. Yet, at age 17, Tubbo has dropped out of school to pursue streaming video games. He basically said “cheating in school is okay if you don’t get caught” and his main bit is annoying other people for fun. Si does not seem to come naturally to him. His Fe is next on the list. I think the case for inferior Fe suits Tubbo much better than Aux Fe. Tubbo isn’t mean by any standard, but his regard for social niceties is not indicative of high Fe. Let’s reference a few real high Fe users like Ranboo or Badboyhalo for our examples of Tubbo’s poor Fe: I just watched a Ranboo stream where Ranboo asked Tubbo to stop telling his chat to spam things. Tubbo responds asking Ranboo to tell *his chat* to spam something. Ranboo, being a responsible INFJ, said “No, because I know that it’s a bad thing to do in other people’s chats Tubbo!!” And to this, Tubbo said, “I have no morals.” I mean, come on... how is this Aux Fe? And of course, there’s the time when KFC was giving away money, and while BadBoyHalo (XSFJ) said he would give the money to charity, Tubbo said he would buy a bunch of toasters... Again, Fe does not seem to come naturally to him LOL So now we understand why Si and Fe do not come first. Why would Ti be dominant instead? Tubbo is absolutely built by his logic. Like witchlys said a few months ago, Tubbo often picks Tommy’s plans apart with no regard of the social repercussions. He cares about the soundness of an idea, not about how it may make others feel. This is never due to stress either, it’s simply how his mind works. Another example: On one of his DSMP streams the other day, after not understanding why Wilbur didn’t want to talk about the “sides” of politics, Tubbo said his favorite part of politics is “just learning how the systems work.” He didn’t understand the social connotation of politics because he was too interested in learning how it works. He really does have a strong “internal framework,” and he loves to add to it. That snippet alone does my job in proving that his TiNe overpowers his SiFe. I’ve made my case for inferior Fe, so Aux Ne takes its place in the stack, supporting Tubbo’s Ti. I have a hard time describing Ne, but I think it’s apparent in Tubbo’s sense of humor. He often takes over Ranboo’s streams and leads him through random bits when he’s is trying to do something else (think autotune Tubbo.) He also has several characters which he seems to come up with on the fly like big crime and big law. He can play things out extraordinarily well when he wants to, but usually he’d rather be annoying. He’s also very eager to learn new things, even once he’s mastered one thing. He has a wide variety of hobbies, some he’s really good at and some he’s still learning. He finds joy in learning to play the ukulele for example, even though he can already play the piano. He mastered trampoline gymnastics but moved on to streaming, etc etc. It seems like healthy Ne parent, always seeking new possibilities for fun. I understand the initial confusion. He is passive and friendly, and in comparison to Tommy he may as well be an ISFJ. But INTPs are known to be like this, especially when they have a 9 enneagram fix. So that’s that. Strong Ti-Ne, child Si, and inferior Fe.

Most of his YouTube videos are clips from his streams on Twitch. He has been streaming on Twitch since 2018 and became a Twitch partner in 2020.
