What personality type is Sunako Nakahara? Sunako Nakahara is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - so/sx - 415 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
Firstly, this anime raised me, didn't help that I took Sunako's warped philosophy with me from middle school to high school. And now look at me, the unhealthy 4 that I've become. ----------------------> Anyway, I'll try to prove that she's a likely INTP, but it's been quite a while, so I'll update evidences when I get around rereading and watching Yamato Nadeshiko. And yes, the anime is an extension of the manga. There is no personality difference, except Yuki, my childhood crush, has a partner in the manga :( ---------------------> Personally, Sunako Nakahara is an INTP. I see her "values" and "philosophy" more as an unhealthy observation of her environment that she instead viewed as her subjective truth (Ti), one she keeps inwards to the point it becomes convoluted. I do understand that her characteristic can be easily read as INFP, however it may just be an overlap with her enneagram 4, as her attitude seems more like an environmental product than base-personality. For example, her younger self in the manga still kept her interests in horror and gore, however still didn't associate with her perception of being somehow unique and fundamentally different from others. What stayed consistent was her tendency to self-isolate, and yet her weaker (and then unhealthy) Fe of trying to fit in with her peers, only to then get rejected. Her lack of Fi is also clearly evident through the manga, it took her until the end of to realize Ranmaru's plan to force Kyouhei and Sunako to fall for each other actually worked. This woman has no self-awareness it hurts. Sunako has also been consistently beaten down, however it's others intervention or an Fe idea that often helps her up. While Yuki (Fi dom) for comparison often stands up for himself when its his values and self that are being disturbed. Anyway, there's still countless moments where her Ti pops up. All her conversational responses are also very Ti, especially on moments where people snidely criticize her, only for her to comeback with obvious, logical comments it almost seems like the Se-type observation. I don't really think aux Ne and tert Si should be up for debate, at least, so I'll end it here. I'll make sure to come back to this to add chapter evidence but honestly Sunako Nakahara is both an INTP and an absolute mess. I love her so much.
Biography
Sunako is a very self-conscious person and has a fairly bad self-image of herself. She frequently calls herself ugly and never acknowledges herself as a beautiful person. Most of the time, she can be found in dark spaces or areas that are believed to be haunted. At the same time, Sunako also has very strong convictions. This ranges anywhere from defending her fellow characters to refusing to do anything she dislikes, such as making a collage of pineapples on her wall. However, it is frequently shown in both the anime and manga that Sunako has no problem compromising some values (e.g., dressing up) in order to further her own ends. Sunako is often fascinated with the dark and morbid. She is also an excellent cook, very athletic, intelligent, and is a skilled pianist.
