Ryoga is ISFP, not INFJ. Fi-dom makes more sense than Ni-dom. He's kind of empathetic, but why ? He feels other's pain because he knows what they feel, he already endured that. Not really because he tries to understand it. So he's not a Fe user, more Fi. Moreover, he doesn't take objective facts or other people into consideration when making decisions. He's very sensitive and in fact he acts directly before thinking. Fi-Se are likely to do that. An other high Fi trait : Ryoga could die for his loved ones (Akane) but with other people he's individualistic. He doesn't care about harmony between people (so he's not a Fe user). But even is he's sometimes individualistic, he still has strong values. For example, most of the time, even if Ranma is his biggest rival, Ryoga doesn't attack him when he is in a weak position. Also, ISFP love being free. Can you count the number of time Ryoga had an existential crisis which pushed him to leave everyone to go in the nature ? INFJ also have existential crisis, but they just think about it, or try to find a solution. INFJ are often able to manipulate people, even if they don't do it often (because it's bad). But do you think that Ryoga could manipulate people and organize a big plan in his head to make people do what he wants ? Also I want to precise that you can't type someone just because of a detail. Ryoga has no sense of direction, but it doesn't mean that he has an inferior Se. Don't forget that on the other side, he's a master of martial arts, and he can feel a presence, fight and so on. I also remarked something about INFJ and ISFP when they love someone (surely a stereotype but anyways). I know a lot of ISFP who love several people at the same time. And Ryoga does same because he loves Akane and Akari. Conversely, INFJs (in any case the fictional ones) often love the same person even if they have an other "opportunity". And Ryoga is a sort of poet. INFJ also have imagination, but they use Ni to find something totally new, a little out of nowhere. While ISFP use their Fi to express about what they feel (aka Ryoga's impossible love with Akane) and they mix that with things they perceived (like nature) thanks to their Se (when he talks about the end of spring or stuff like that). Indeed, Ryoga seems having a strong connexion with nature. And I know that it's a stereotype, but most ISFP characters are annoying but they end up being loved because they are finally endearing (maybe because of the Fi ?).
Biografie
Ranma Saotome's most persistent rival, a boy with a notoriously bad sense of direction whom he met in junior high school. Eventually, the two mellowed it out, though they still fought — as much for their mutual respect of each other's skills as because of their irritation, given Ranma's love of manipulating and poking fun at Ryōga. Ryōga's curse allows him to masquerade as "P-Chan", the adopted pet of Akane Tendō. Ryōga has a noble heart and usually means well, but he is also driven almost entirely by his whims and emotions; he can just as easily beat Ranma up as he can save his life.
