Onceler seems Fi PoLR af to me. Did we watch the same movie? How is he ENFP?? Where da Fi at??? Some here even theorize that he's an ESFP or an ENTJ, but he's definitely not a Se user. Ne usage: Vision oriented. Many comments here have stated that he only invented and fixated on the Thneed, but thats incorrect. He also designed and built the factory, as well Thneedville AND the many machines that were used to cut down the trees. He's a musician, he knits, he cooks, he invents weird innovative shit, and all for his grand vision of becoming the biggest mack daddy lime pimp the world has ever seen. His focus is outward, exploring many different creative avenues rather than narrowing in on one specific vision like an Ni user would do. He completely lacks Se. Multiple times he nearly maims the animals when he's pulling things out of his wagon, and he doesn't even realize the damage he's done until it's literally shoved in his face at the end of the movie. Homie couldn't be more oblivious to physical reality if he tried. He's just too lost in his vision, gluttony and need for approval. Oncie seems Fi polr as well. "I'm not bad!" *sings a song about how not bad he is while doing atrocious things* Remember the scene I mentioned where he nearly maimed the animals and they, understandably, attack him and he doesn't understand why? Yeah, thats Fi polr. "Omg, what's their problem? We were literally just singing together seconds ago!" He's often oblivious to his effects on the physical world and then misinterprets the feelings and values of those he's affecting (also is easily fooled by his family). On that note, his moral values aren't well defined. If anything, his morality shifts based on who he's more eager to please. He promises the Lorax that he wont chop down anymore trees until his family shows up and he immediately breaks his promise once they give him the approval he so desperately craves. That's Fe, not Fi. ("I love nature so dang much...until my family shows up and tells me to destroy nature for profit.") I think what people are seeing is his Ti, not Fi. Ti is internal reasons, while Fi is internal values. He is often seen trying to rationalize his actions. Remember kids, just because Ti is a thinking function does not inherently make it logical. Also, I'm currently leaning towards Sp7. Dat boi hangry. EDIT 3/10/2026: Upon further research and hartwell99.9's enneagram type 3 video, I can better see 3w4.

Biografie

The Once-ler is an old man who recounts to Ted Wiggins how his discovery of the Truffula Forest as a young adult led to its depletion. Therefore, he could be considered a (former) secondary antagonist as well as the story's main protagonist.
