The Coffee Bean Banker Saga. The story of a young man who is gated from higher banking aspirations because of a risky move involving a docked shipment of coffee beans without a buyer. This isn't that saga, but a brief explanation of the man called J.P. Morgan. Compared to the banking men of his time he was a risk taker, if we had more insight into the man we could make an accurate interpretation of what type he really was. The problem being J.P. Morgan burned all the letters his father saved up of his son. They would correspond with each other and his father would switch him to different schools to learn languages and keep things interesting for his son. Pierpont had rheumatic fever and suffered from terrible pain when he was younger, later his rosacae gave him a large nose that would glow bright red when he yelled. The pictures we have of him are touched up to lessen the lumpiness of his nose. Some pictures aren't, in those cases he is seen as furious. The first love of his life died of tuberculosis, he married her and searched everywhere for someone to cure her of her wasting disease. He was absolutely heart broken when she died. Later he married a second wife, he would have affairs while married to his second wife. When called out about what he did behind his office door he told the man, "That is what doors are for." Pierpont enjoyed fine art, the French language, and cigars. He smoked over a dozen cigars a day. He was nicknamed "Zeus of Wallstreet" and his cigars "Hercules Clubs" A religious man and believer in Christ, he was episcopal in his church attendance. He believed the Bible literally, that the world was formed in 6 days, Noah's flood happened, and Jonah was trapped in a whale. He implored his children to defend the gospel of Christ and his salvation. I would say more about him but I suggest you find sources of information about him. His deformity and religious beliefs had an influence on how much we get to know about him. He was considered the lesser of the wealthier men. He invested into risky ventures and definitely lost his tail on some. If he weren't so private and was more like Carnegie he may have had more wealth, Carnegie being a pot-stirrer and loving the public attention.
