This is one of the few times where I agree with an INFJ consensus (I hate it when people mistype others as Ni dominants, since it just poisons the well). If she isn't an INFJ, I would argue she might be an extremely mature and intelligent ISTP. But I think her Ni is so crucial to her entire worldview, and that her actions (Se) are almost entirely centered around her Ni conclusions about the state of the world, she has to be an Ni dominant of some sort. Since she shows an inexplicable knowledge about how people and the politics between people change over the course of time, I'd say this shows a natural use of Fe. So this points to her being an INFJ. The reason I might've argued her being an ISTP, is that she is grounded in what she needs to do. She also demonstrates a potent use of Se. But an ISTP's Ni usage tends to be simplistic (powerful, but simplistic). Take Solid Snake for example. Whenever Snake describes his motivations, they are complex in nature, but the method in which he describes his philosophical insights is usually to the point. Things like "I work to preserve the future" or "Go and create your own name." The Boss on the other hand, is more than able to go into great depth into her insights. I'd argue this is because of her Tertiary Ti. She tends to go down the intellectual rabbit-hole of whatever she is saying, and will analyze the consistencies of the worldviews of others (like she would do with Snake before her death). An INTJ (who are also Ni dominant), would focus on the more practical applications of their insights due to Te. I would also argue that the strongest evidence of the Boss being an INFJ is actually her Se inferior. Most people assume that INFJs are insecure over using Se and they would be correct. But once an INFJ becomes confident, and they get over their performance anxiety they can become incredible forces of nature. Especially since their Se is tied to their dominant Ni, their actions (and their performance) are inexplicably tied to who they are. It gives them a drive to do the seemingly irrational to fulfill their ideals. To the Boss, her ability to do her job (inferior Se) is connected to her perceived worth as an individual (Dominant Ni) and as a soldier. This can grant INFJs insane amounts of willpower to act in accordance to their insights, and to finish what they start in the name of those ideals. I argue that this willpower and her Ni-Se usage are the main reason she was able to "turn her back on her comrades" and to basically sentence herself to death in order to do what she deemed as right. For those typing her as an ENTJ, where is her Extroverted Thinking? Dominant Te users tend to care about status, because having a higher status offers them a "bird's eye view" on their surroundings. Now, having dominant Te does not inherently make them "authority figures", but they are naturally drawn to those positions because It gives them control over their environment. It's just how they interact with the world. An ENTJs Ni can also be strong, but it's also in service to their Dominant Te. The Boss' Ni is just way too prominent and integral to who she is for her to be anything else but an Ni dominant.

The Boss, also known as The Joy, The Mother of Special Forces, Mercury Lady, and Voyevoda (Russian: Воевода, "Warlord"), was a renowned American soldier, founder and leader of the Cobra Unit, the biological mother of Ocelot, and mentor and mother figure to Naked Snake (Big Boss). In June 1944, during World War II, she led the Cobra Unit to victory at the Battle of Normandy. Together with Naked Snake, she developed the technique of CQC.
