An 8 core probably wouldn't resolve not to tell his gang what happened under the map (since WHEN would an 8 deceive someone specifically to keep their peace), and i also have a hard time believing an E8 would be that bothered by not being able to remember the face of their own mother (that being, the primary attachment figure of his life). His moping around after the revelation that he's an NPC, "what's the point" and all is an EXTREMELY Nine-ish response to having one's world turned upside down like that, and fully consistent with a core fixation of sloth.
