I don't think he is a Fi user, he is in Se-Fe loop, mostly because of his father of course. Unlike the Fi user characters such as Sarah; JJ always thinks about others which is a very Fe thing. For example Sarah run away with John B and easily turned away with her family (her sister) because the most important thing to her is her own values. But for JJ, it's more important to please people. We can see this moral in him, especially in the pool scene with an unhealthy way (Se-Fe loop). He is always there for them even if the results will be bad for him. (For example in the fight scene at the beach) And tertiary Fe users become very protective if their loved ones are being mistreated or bullied.
