She’s 100% an ENFP, I feel INFP is a close second but most of the comments saying “INFP” are INFP so it feels very biased. We don’t actually see a lot of Uta so it’s harder to type her but everyone seems to focus on her and yoriichis first meeting instead of how she was the rest of her life. I’m basing this on her relationship with Yoriichi as that’s the only way we actually hear about her. ‘ENFP’s want to connect emotionally with others. Few things matter more than having a heartfelt conversation with the people they cherish’. ‘They believe everyone deserves the chance to express their feelings and their warmth creates spaces where even the most timid spirits feel comfortable opening up’. ‘They harbor a deep longing to share their life with another person and because of this they may feel a bit empty when they are single’. ‘Their relationships are romantic and beautiful-an opportunity for two souls to not only explore the world together but also connect on the deepest levels’. ‘They constantly look for ways to delight and prove their dedication to their partner.’ These traits scream Uta over all else as she was just happy living her life with Yoriichi, she was the only one (outside his mother and kinda his brother) who made him feel comfortable to speak his mind. she was able to connect to him so much she was able to feel what he was feeling even if he didn’t show much emotion. ‘They consider physical touch to be essential and an effective way to show their love’ is word for word how Uta is when she holds yoriichis hand tight whenever they were out. For INFP it’s stated ‘INFP’s approach romance with high expectations. People with this personality tend to develop and carry a vision of their ideal partner and can’t help but compare their partners with this ideal thought’ this sounds nothing like Uta or what she saw/ thought of Yoriichi. ‘To stay clear of conflict, they tend to avoid talking openly about things bothering them. People with this personality may need to remind themselves that open honest communication is necessary in a relationship.’ Absolutely none of these traits are how Uta felt or acted around Yoriichi. She fell in love with him and only him, not an idealized version of him. She clearly had no trouble communicating with him or showing him just how much he meant to her and Yoriichi stated that even a quiet uneventful life would have made him so happy purely because of the bright bubbly and fun personality she had (which is ENFP’s specialty). The interaction everyone goes to is how she felt lonely and empathetic towards the tadpoles as she lost her family as well but I feel it’s very unfair to type her just in this interaction as 1. This may be her only speaking role but she acts nothing like this ever again in any of her other panels…and 2. I’m certain even the bubbliest and cheeriest people would become lonely, melancholic, and empathetic after losing their whole family to a plague, not just INFPs and she’s shown that even the company of one person was enough to bring her back to her bubbly self (plus she’s seen to be upset and more lonely bc her family is gone which imo showed that she wasn’t like this before they died, and for the following 10 years with Yoriichi she was nothing but a nonstop bubbly ray of sunshine which also screams ENFP). Putting Uta next to the other INFPs in demon slayer (muichiro, makomo, aizetsu, and Spider mom) feels almost alien with how out of place she is with these meloncholic and quieter characters.
