I think in the past, Nintendo was more ENFP. They developed the first fully functioning console that supported entirely 3D games (the N64), and back in the early 2000s, Nintendo made games that were “strange” and provided new concepts and ideas not many games explore. This was with their main IPs no less, which would often differ from its roots in terms of themes and gameplay (Super Mario Sunshine, Majora’s Mask, Luigi’s Mansion, The Wind Waker, etc). A huge risk in terms of alienating their player base, but you won’t find these sorts of main “line” Nintendo games anymore. I mean, just watch the commercials for Super Mario Sunshine and tell me differently. Or how they developers created the art style used in the Wind Waker despite negative public opinion. They didn't play it safe at all, and took massive risks to deliver original ideas. This sort of innovation in game design would not really happen with Nintendo in this day and age (with the exception of Breath of the Wild, and maybe Odyssey), as I’ve read somewhere that nowadays Nintendo focuses on core gameplay over presentation. Which results in them making the same product over and over again (most of the more recent Mario titles). Not saying that any of them are bad, since the core gameplay has always been good. But most of the recent titles feel the same, with little innovation in between. You can tell they mainly focus their attention on name recognition. This is not a bad thing, because you still have people over the age of 40 that still call every console a “Nintendo”. But I think modern day Nintendo is definitely ISTJ in terms of not just the company, but to the actual games they are putting out. Right now, they're are just focusing on what works. The result in that is almost always great games with lots of production value, but little in the way of variety.
