Only because Alex gets visions that predict death doesn't mean he has Ni. The way he tries to deal with this feels more INTP to me because first of all he tries to analyze it like a puzzle. Alex leaps from one possibility to another rather than focusing on one. His paranoia is Ti-Ne overdrive under stress trying to find the logical consistency in seemingly illogical situations. He doesn't try to control the situation however, he rather tries to save everyone which indicates to inferior Fe.
