Personalidade

"¿Qué tipo de personalidad es Évariste Galois? Évariste Galois es un tipo de personalidad INTJ en mbti, 5w4 - sx/so - 584 en enneagram, RLOEI en Big 5, EIE en Socionics."

Évariste Galois appears to correspond to a gamma type, with a strong preference for Ni and Fi. Upon entering secondary school, he discovered plane geometry and arithmetic, for which he developed a deep passion. From that moment on, he abandoned other disciplines to focus exclusively on mathematics, dedicating all his energy to what he considered the "mother science." This behavior reveals a tendency to deliberately reduce external informational input — especially in abstract subjects beyond mathematics — in order to focus intensely on a single area. Such an attitude is typical of an IxxJ type, or perhaps an IxxP caught in a Di–Oi introverted loop. It’s important to highlight that his choice to narrow his focus to mathematics doesn’t seem to have come from a fully formed, conscious decision, but rather from a certain functional imbalance, or even psychological immaturity. For example, a young XNTP — especially an ENTP — would typically tend to scatter through Ne, but might eventually stabilize by developing Si with age. By contrast, Galois seemed early on to operate through a marked Fi–Se axis, driven by intense personal convictions he followed almost with mysticism. One can sense in him a true Fi passion, and the poor academic results he sometimes received should not be seen as signs of laziness or disinterest, but rather as a refusal to deviate from what truly inspired him. Before diving into mathematics, Galois was among the top students in France in Greek and Latin, winning national prizes. This shows not only intellectual brilliance, but also a certain Te functionality, which allowed him at the time to adapt to academic expectations, to learn through imposed methods — before eventually rejecting them. His teachers acknowledged his abilities, but noted that he needed to work to fulfill his potential, something he was clearly capable of. Still, he eventually rejected all non-mathematical disciplines, including physics and chemistry, deeming them useless in expressing his passion. This selective rejection is quite reminiscent of a Fi–Te axis. Thus, two possible MBTI types stand out: either INTJ jumper (Ni–Fi) or ISFP jumper (Fi–Ni). His tragic death, along with his legal troubles linked to political activism (republican demonstrations, a duel...), suggest a strongly present, but immature and possibly unhealthy, Fi–Se axis. His Se does not appear controlled, as it would in someone with Se in a stronger position, but rather impulsive and clumsy, as often seen with inferior Se. Moreover, his Fi convictions grew stronger as he matured, while Ni and Te seemed to manifest more naturally in him. This would suggest that he was more likely an INTJ with a developed Fi and inferior Se, than an ISFP. He likely died in a duel, possibly caused by a romantic affair — an impulsive act typical of a Se grip episode. This scenario fits well with the dynamic of an unstable Fi–Se, where personal judgment (Fi) is overwhelmed by a poorly channeled reaction (Se). For comparison, one might think of Andrew Neimann in the film Whiplash, whose journey reflects a similarly disbalanced Ni–Fi dynamic, this time handicapped by a Te grip and a toxic vision of self-transcendence. While Neimann falters under an overuse of Ni–Te, Galois seems to have been undone by a Fi–Se axis: passionate, but unstable and still under construction.

Biografia

Évariste Galois (25 October 1811 – 31 May 1832) was a French mathematician and political activist. While still in his teens, he was able to determine a necessary and sufficient condition for a polynomial to be solvable by radicals, thereby solving a problem standing for 350 years. His work laid the foundations for Galois theory and group theory, two major branches of abstract algebra, and the subfield of Galois connections.
