Kuchisake-onna (口裂け女, "Slit Mouth Woman ") is a malevolent figure appearing in Japanese ghost stories, possibly dating back to the Edo period. While wearing a mask she would ask people if she's pretty. If you say "no", she kills you with scissors. If you say "yes", she would take the mask off and ask again.
