I belive that Jacques Lacan follows the tradition of his master (Freud) as being another INFP. His theory is a interpretation of Freud's psychoanalisis based on various different fields of knowledge: Antrophology, linguistics, art, logic, surrealism. His way of theorizing and linking ideas together in this scrambled and complex way seems like Ne to me. He is much more focused on finding the potential connections and ways of seeing the phenomena than to finding the one true meaning. The whole point of a process of analysis is to deal with life's inherent lack of meaning, dealing with the "reality" as a register of the psyche. For him is much more about realizing that we won't be able to say everything, we won't be able to experience everything. We are divided in our nature, between conscious and unconscious. There is no essence, no absolute, this is Ne. About his Fi, seems like his theories focus a lot of the subjetive aspect of the discourse, it's about the associations, the creative ways in which language transforms and fold to unreavel a beautiful secret that was right in front of us all of the time. It's about expression, about things we can't compreheend logically, things we must experience and feel, it's much more Fi than Ti to me. His way of thinking is not detached in any way shape or form, it's based on his personal worldview and understanding of Freud's theory of the unconscious, the pulsions and psychoanalisis in general. His speech has a very enigmatic feel as revealed in his seminaries. His way of teaching and dealing with patients is unique, it's not about logic or efficiency for it's own sake, it's about telling a message, to follow what each individual's unique self is, and dealing with the fact that we can't compreehend everything in a rational and detached manner. The analysis objective is to create a person who is able to deal with the complex and bizarre reality that surrounds us, with all of it's imperfections, limits and absurdness.

Jacques Lacan was a French psychoanalyst and psychiatrist who has been called "the most controversial psycho-analyst since Freud". Lacan wanted to go back to the original theories of Sigmund Freud ("retour à Freud"), even though he in fact was a major innovator in psychoanalysis. He is well known for his difficult and at times seemingly impenetrable writing style, as well as his attempt to incorporate algebraic symbols into psychoanalysis.
