Sarah shows very juvenile and immature behaviours particularly at the beginning of the show. They establish her as incredibly fantasy oriented with a difficulty accepting rules, limitations and obligations. This is quite evident in the first few minutes with the small detail of her being late back home, then when she arrives she not only defensively apologises before she can be criticised but becomes increasingly more agitated and upset when she is reminded of the obligation of babysitting itself (3V aversion to feeling controlled) and then the drawing of attention to her not having a date (e4 core as it points out lack). She consistently exclaims that it isnt fair and feels shes being treated like a " slave ", that people are being cruel to her and denying her something or overlooking her, very characteristic of the way sx4 passionately pursues their needs unlike so4 which directs this feeling inwards and finds a reason as to why they arent good enough/that its their fault. She displayed the sx4 dissatisfaction when she denies her father talking to her (" theres nothing to talk about ") but also blames him and feels slighted when he closes his statement, she struggles to see the good in either variable and despite expressing rather aggressively what she thinks she wants, isnt happy when its given to her. This is also seen with Toby and the plot of the show itself. Her growth comes from her learning to appreciate what she has and notice that others aren't always in debt to her needs, to adjust more accordingly to life with realistic expectations and acceptance of inideal conditions whilst also fighting for what she deserves. She also displays some specks of sx4 arrogance where she refers to herself as beautiful during a monologue. Her fascination with being understood, seen and heard (particularly in relation to what she feels is her position of injustice) by this imaginary other is characteristic of the sx instinct itself. She does not hesitate to criticise or direct aggression to those in power or who hold power over her, even when in reality they dont all (hating toby for taking up more time and attention). She has the mood swings of an sx4: intense expressions of defeat and frustration contrasted with " this is a piece of cake " in the scene with the doors and general cocky attitudes when she feels accomplished. She understands suffering in others deeply and isnt afraid of non conformity even when it may seem ugly or dangerous (ludo) but largely forgets her empathy when people are inconsistent or unreasonable towards her (her becoming aggressive and annoyed with hoggle when she feels hes lied or he leaves her). The entire " you have no power over me " speech is indicative of 3V and she consistently shows discomfort with being controlled or forced into doing things, yet is incredibly determined when its something she herself has chosen to do.
Biografia
The kid heroine, Sarah does not wish to grow up, preferring a fantastical, theatrical life and doing a lot of LARP. She wishes for her brother Toby to be taken away by the Goblin King, and to her horror, it actually happens. Sarah races off into Jareth's labyrinth to find her brother, using her wits and imagination to take on its various puzzles and oddball characters.
