[1/12] 🔏. *. ⋆ EII 4w5 so/sx 451 ELVF Poe Argument Hi everybody!!! I’d like to present my argument for EII 4w5 so/sx 451 ELVF Poe because it seems a full argument has not been made for him! It’s also to challenge the consensus of 469 IEI and bring a new typing idea to the table :3 ╰┈➤ EII Argument ☆✎ Fi Base Poe prioritizes his intrinsic values, goals, and desires over all else. This can be seen by his decision to join The Guild in order to challenge Ranpo once again, (As well as having no problem betraying The Guild to fulfill this personal desire) seeking recognition for his personal achievements through his writing and intellect, and in his overall ability to clearly state what he wants to accomplish. He is not confused or unsure about his objectives or desires, and again, prioritizes them over say the goal of the group or something more societal. I know that Fe in socionics is attributed to emotional expression, but this includes personal expression as well as the expression of others, which Poe does not value at all. He does not encourage or seek to hear of other’s emotional expression, and truthfully only “expresses” himself through his work or outbursts because that is natural and uncontrollable for him, not necessarily on purpose like someone with Fe ego would. This is not a man who values or actively utilizes the objective, technical, or purely abstract; he is acting from a place within and tied to his clear emotional values and judgements. ☆✎ Ne Creative Poe’s use of Ne and possibility seeking can be found when it is something he personally cares about (Hence serving the Fi base and being the primary means for expressing it.) He is able to produce many ideas for things like his mysteries, potential story ideas, ways to defeat Ranpo, or helping form complicated plans like in season 5. Those are all specific matters that he expressed interest or value in, which is why he is able to confidently use his Ne and bend it to fit his personal Fi goal/desire. To oppose IEI’s creative Fe, Poe never seeks any sort of social harmony, pleasant social experience, to express himself in a group, or resolve conflicts in order to maintain positive relationships—let alone describing this as a necessity for inner peace. He is openly confrontational and not afraid to be cruel in achieving what he wants (Ex: Killing Yosano in his novel, directly challenging Ranpo, putting Ranpo under emotional distress, literally sniping a guy.) In times of frustration or emotional outburst, he is outward about the way he feels and has no problem becoming defensive or accusatory, clearly not prioritizing the harmony of the group or the stability of his connections. He is also extremely selective about his social connections, with friendships being limited almost exclusively to Ranpo. Fe Creative would not only seek more connections, but again that positive atmosphere would be a necessity; Poe is completely content being a little recluse who is bitter and cynical about most people. ☆✎ Role Ti Oh my goodness if there is anybody who is a try-hard intellectual, it’s Poe. Every time we see him, he is doing everything he can to prove his intelligence, wit, and cognitive superiority. This ranges from of course challenging Ranpo in a battle of wits, constantly showing his work in an effort to prove his capability, or becoming extremely defensive when his Fi desires are being contested and questioned. In his reunion with Ranpo, he has no issue bragging about his accomplishments and abilities, outright calling himself someone of “genius intellect” in the manga and scoffing at Ranpo’s disregard to this identity. He actively desires and tries to be perceived as somebody logical and impressive. Moreover, he seeks validation, recognition, and praise in the intellectual department, those desires being the main reason for him even showing his writing/work in the first place. When this desire to be logical and reasonable is juxtaposed with his emotional and limbic personality, Role Ti would explain perfectly that this is what he wants to be, not how he truly is at nature, alongside the fact that maintaining stable logic is a weakness and insecurity for him (Ranpo being the biggest contributor since he is his rival afterall…) When confronted about this weakness, he is either extremely defensive, or simply avoids and shuts down the matter all together. Everything in this aspect is interpreted as a personal attack.
