This character is a perfect example of an unhealthy 4SX. "If I can't have good things, no one can." He's a very obvious 4 to me. He even connects with Elizabeth over being the 'odd one out', being the one who's unwanted but can't escape that doom. He's envious of his brother and tries everything to undermine him. Whenever he fails to get his mother's approval, you see that pain in his eyes followed by a strong urge to do something about that pain. Just because he's competitive doesn't mean he's a 3. Especially the last sentence describes him when all of his efforts seem to have been in vain when his brother's plans for peace worked, unraveling his own plans. Despite the general saying it's over, he screams that he will get to the thrown anyway. There's no other option. He was very cunning in how he was preparing his coup. His fantasy was very detailed and well-thought out. He knows exactly how to play into people's desires and use it for his own bigger plan. It's when his fantasy starts to crumble that it becomes more unrealistic and yet harder to let go from. I feel like his love for partying isn't per se an indicator of a 7 core. Maybe a strong 7 fix, sure. But the difference between 4s partying and 7s partying is that 7s run away from the pain, Maximillian parties to heighten the emotions. To increase that sense of adrenaline, fueling his inner fantasy of 'I'm going to become the next emperor'. However unrealistic that may be. And that spirit for partying doesn't last forever. When he gets really stressed, he doesn't feel the urge to escape, he eventually feels to urge to retreat into his room.
