Miyata has clear and strong memories from his dad's last fight and uses that to motivate himself (Si). Also, he is extremely racional and logical, a bit stoic and very quiet (Te). I believe his Si dom and Fi tertiary are shown when he has the opportunity to fight Randy Boy Jr. Since he is very attached to the memories from his past (Si), seeing his father lose to Randy's father, he is under a lot of stress. In stress situations, ISTJs tend to leave their stoic and logical behaviors behind, using Fi, their internal values, to determine things. So Miyata HAS to fight this guy, even though is not logical, since a fight with Ippo was in schedule.
