I somehow managed to completely evade the political “social justice” side of tumblr when I used it in the early/mid 10s. To me, it just always seemed like an artsy place with kind of a libertine vibe since you could post nudity or just about anything you wanted. I used it as sort of a creative inspiration board to my artwork. I had a couple of photos and paintings that had female breasts in them and they were flagged and removed after the porn ban despite nor being porn. That pissed me off enough that I left for good. Checked back recently and it’s relatively quiet now. I kinda miss that era of tumblr tbh, wish there was something like it now.
