Sam has the same hairstyle as Goku, which is why he’s an EXFP. End of discussion. (Okay no.) Sam is way too absent-minded, even for an ESXP. If his head weren’t attached to his neck, it would probably fall off, and he’d spend hours looking for it. He also happens to be incredibly observant, emotionally mature, and reflective (especially regarding how he perceives his parents’ relationship), and that combination of “genuine airhead” and “character who turns out to be much smarter than he seems” occurs more frequently with certain types of ENFPs. Plus, he seems to have a hyperfocus on the things he likes most—more in the Ne style than the Se style—because he prioritizes variety and exploring possibilities over fully experiencing sensations. And what leads me to favor Ne over Se is his need to always be doing something. Se-dominant types tolerate moments of inactivity better because they feel comfortable in the present, but Sam always seems mentally restless. While his clumsy charm is part of his unique appeal, if you think ESFP suits him better, it’s still a very good option for him.
