In a series flooded with Te characters that are focused on facts, logistics, results, strategy, solutions, and order, Legasov really stands out as a character mainly focused on principles and underlying theories that explain information. Te orients itself to what is specific and tangible – the thing itself, in the objective world; Ti, especially when combined with an Ne/Si middle axis, orients itself to the general – the underlying idea that 'defines' the thing itself. Ti-Ne has its drawbacks, of course. Legasov is ultimately not the one mobilizing resources and making things happen. He would probably be clumsy at it if he did. This is something that requires a cognitive flow that actively shapes what is at hand (or what needs to be at hand) toward a specific result. The bureaucrats and generals in the series are better at this. Likewise, while Legasov values truth in the abstract (perhaps more than any other character), he is ultimately not oriented toward using it to influence people and shape policy.
