Steven Anthony Ballmer (born March 24, 1956) is an American businessman, investor and philanthropist who was the chief executive officer of Microsoft from January 2000 to February 2014, and is the current owner of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). As of January 2018, his personal wealth is estimated at US$38.7 billion, ranking him the 21st richest person in the world. Ballmer was hired by Bill Gates at Microsoft in 1980 after dropping out of Stanford University.
