Why he's not a 3w4 but a 5w6: I've argued on why his arrogant successful Doctor aspect was just a phase, but there's more to it. Not only is he obsessed with solving more complex cases in that phase, but it's natural for 5s with a stronger 3 side to be very success-oriented. But is it ever implied that his main desire is to build an image based on his success? It surely is implied lots of times that he loves solving complex cases, and it's even more evident after he loses the neurological ability in his hands. He could just command the others to do the job his way, or find another career to succeed at which uses the decisiveness more-so, but he doesn't, because he prefers solving the problems by himself, and that's as 5 as it gets. The Ancient One, someone whose traced his life since forever also tells him that he's 'become' full of himself, and manages to decrease his 3-ness even more so, there's very little basic desires of 3 left with him by the second act of the film. And let's get into the aspect of integration and disintegration. We saw Strange in his worst mental-health predicament yet in the solo film. What was his approach to that? 3s disintegrate into 9s, which would make them want to blend in, and to be hesitant from ambition, and more passive in comparison. Strange on the other end turned himself into an embarrassing loudmouth, which is much more characteristic of Type 5's disintegration into 7. The typing of Strange as 3w4 is rather stereotypical, as such characteristics can apply to someone with 3 in the tritype too. And then even if one looks at Strange at Kamar Taj, he's more so interested in acquiring all the knowledge he could to 'solve' the problem of his hands. Does he really act like he strives to be the best sorcerer? Not as much as he wants to solve all the problem he looks at. (cont) EDIT: I don't stand by most of my old typings and comments, and that's not mainly due to changes in typing but moreso due to my growing cynicality towards typology altogether. Parts of my overall overview have been getting clearer (especially in connection with language, creation, and art), and my typological conclusions have found way more ambiguity due to them.
