I’m not sure if I understand typology well enough to even accurately determine his type, so rather than treating this as a fully logical analysis of his type, I suggest reading it as a learning exercise in practice. I hope you’ll be able to receive this with an open mind, even if you end up disagreeing. Seiichi Samura as sp1: Throughout Iori’s flashback, we see how Samura deals with (or rather fails to deal with) his intrusive thoughts related to war crimes (which, by the way, weren’t even committed by him), and he constantly blames himself… he has an inner judge, someone who condemns him and reminds him of the crimes committed after the Seitei war. Samura has a very negative opinion of the Enchanted Blades and their wielders. He despises the fact that society holds them in such high regard despite the sins committed during the war that were later covered up. > “As the aggressive part is a taboo, Conservation E1 transforms it into a critical attitude. He possesses a highly developed inner judge, a blaming inner voice with which he identifies. The mechanics of perfectionism are provided by this stern inner judge, who judges inside and out, like a radar that tracks what is wrong. Thus, he is used to blaming himself for almost everything, and judging internally is the only defensive act he can afford. He is a self-referential individual. It is a selfish character, with a self that is threatened daily, who has a Superego configured to oppose a caged ego. The ego is in the midst of the struggle and fights for its identity. It clearly controls its attributions and its limits, there is a strong Ego, with safe, well-defined identifications, because it needs to feel that way. It is a reinforced, contracted, tense, bodybuilder, hyper-developed Ego. The feeling of guilt is one of the most prominent features of this subtype, in which the judge and guilt appear intrinsically linked. Guilt is also provided by the emotion of anger turned inward, the continual saying to himself, ‘I’m doing it wrong,’ which causes him to blame himself directly. From his very high self-demand, he feels guilty for being the way he is; it is difficult for him to accept and love himself.” SP1s not only worry excessively, but they also focus on things they believe need fixing, even if there is actually no need. This tendency to worry stems from a deeply rooted need to predict and control every situation, driven by fear that their safety or well-being might be threatened. > “There is an evil far filthier than the Hishaku that must be punished, even if it takes colluding with the Hishaku. I’m talking about us. The sword bearers… All five sword bearers, including me, will die by my hand.” — what Samura said to Uruha. Samura speaks of a “filthier evil than the Hishaku” — something so morally reprehensible that it deserves punishment regardless of context. This is a typical mechanism of the inner judge, who evaluates with an absolute standard — it doesn’t matter that he himself is part of the problem; punishment must be dealt. What’s more, he says he will do it with his own hands. E1 Conservation (Self-Preservation) – Worry Ichazo called anguish the passion characteristic of the One conservation subtype. However, he preferred to use the word worry. It could be said, in fact, that in this type of person, concern becomes a real passion. And it’s not just behavior that can be described as worrying too much — or even feeling a need to worry — but they worry about things that are fine, and sometimes ruin what they touch by trying to fix what doesn’t need fixing. This need to worry can be understood as an exaggerated need for foresight and to have everything under control, in turn motivated by a fear that their survival or conservation will be threatened. In reality, the image they have of themselves is that they are too imperfect, and that’s why their activity becomes a constant and obsessive self-improvement. Their anger, on the other hand, hides behind friendly benevolence and a service-oriented attitude that doesn’t allow their anger and resentment to show. That is, they transform their anger into goodwill.
