He’s much more reclusive, calm, and organized than in the movies; that’s what makes him more terrifying. He still holds E8’s values of action and possession, but he has his own intelligence and strength to hold himself up. Most of his reasoning for what he does in the novel is a desire for power over others, which devolves into a violent nature. Chris, having a similarly intense mindest, is one of the only people to outwardly challenge Billy, and even she ends up losing to him. However, he has a twisted sense of care for her; although he’s willing to go through with criminal acts for her almost on a whim, his deepest desire is to have others submit to his control, even if it means harming Chris or Carrie.
Biographie
William Nolan is the leader of a greaser gang and a malevolent bully. He slaughters two pigs and sets up their blood to humiliate Carrie at prom for his girlfriend Chris, who held a grudge against her after getting banned from prom. However, he mainly complies out of a desire to hurt people rather than caring about Chris’s revenge.
