i argue for e7 core rather than e3 core, but i think MK has a very strong 3 fix that even i found it hard to differentiate the line between the two. so7 and so3 both share the theme of self sacrifice, that they have to be what other people expect from them. e3 core does this to be noticed. they create this image of contempt as a call for help and like sp1, they value perfection and success over all, feeling dissatisfied when they seem are not enough (gluttony). they rely on others for an image, they do things on accord to what is acceptable. MK shows these values, however rather than mainly worrying about how competent they appear towards other people and hiding it through self vanity and status, he first prioritises worrying about how other people feel and sacrifices his feelings by keeping a positive outlook for the battles the team faces. unlike so3, so7 is altruistic avoids focusing on their own self interests, they want a world without conflict and avoid their own personal turmoils. so7 is described to be vastly different to the other e7 subtypes. as described by claudio naranjo, they are more of the “good kid” stereotype (a stereotype also commonly associated in e3 cores, seen in taylor swift who is a notable e3). e3’s defense mechanism is identification: they need to be seen as loved and model themselves after someone of power. they need to adopt the image of the world to be able to put up with the pains life throws at them. if they are not what is expected, what’s the point of trying to succeed? MK wants to live up to SWK’s name, he is his predecessor and he wants to prove that he’s worthy enough of being strong on his own without SWK’s help (s1 ep9 Macaque) e7 also relates to MK well, beatrice chestnut describes them to “defend against the experience of pain using intelligence, imagination, charm, and enthusiasm, and to avoid fear through an optimistic outlook.” MK does this during s2 with LBD, when he comes back from spider queen’s liar. he tries to find a weapon that can make him strong enough to defeat the “next big bad” and that he’s “ready for something bigger, more powerful”. he is over enthusiastic, he doesn’t want to rest and train harder. so7 are described to act selfless as they already believe that he posses better abilities than others and that he doesn’t need help (s2 ep5: he skips the tutorials; and throughout the series he is constantly saying he can do anything because “he’s the monkey kid” even if it’s out of his power). e7’s defense mechanisms are idealisation and rationalising. they believe negative feelings are to avoided at all costs and that they can all be avoided through enthusiasm towards other and being more competent to stifle the pain. —- e3 lives to attract the eyes of others and feelings are unimportant to the end result, discipline is valued to seem stable and capable. e7 lives to please the feelings of others because if they are optimistic and avoid sticking with conflict/painful feelings, people won’t argue with them and they won’t have to face the shame. i think MK mainly prioritises the values of e7 over the values of e3 s2, ep9: MK comes back with the sign after witnessing Spider Queen’s defeat by LBD. Instead of telling the gang what happened, he says “Do you guys maybe feel like training today?”. he is avoiding conflict through enthusiasm and a positive experience, by training he is preparing for a fight but at the same time he’s doing this because he wants to avoid thinking about the risks and the sheer danger of the situation they’re in. he doesn’t want his team to think about it, because he will have to as well. he overworks himself because he wants to avoid negativity and by resting means he has to be with his own thoughts again. this might change i’m fairly new to enneagram and tritype as a whole,, please feel free to correct me if ive made any mistakes and this was written on a whim
Biographie
MK is a noodle delivery boy and the successor of the Monkey King. When MK learned that the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, he, along with Mei, Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy, went on a quest to Flower Fruit Mountain. However, when he went to Flower Fruit Mountain, the Monkey King appointed him as his successor. MK then defeated the Demon Bull King, earning the title Monkie Kid. Sometime later, MK's power was sealed by Monkey King, who began training him. MK fought many demons, including Macaque, who tricked him and temporarily stole his powers. After the Demon Bull family freed the Lady Bone Demon from her tomb, MK helped Princess Iron Fan and Red Son free the Demon Bull King from her possession. When the Spider Queen took control of the city and captured the Monkey King during New Year's, MK, his friends, and Red Son traveled to the Celestial Realm to gather ingredients for an antidote to the Spider Queen's venom. MK along with the Monkey King defeated Spider Queen.
