Extraverted Thinkers approach the categorization of data and logical conclusions from the perspective of empirical data rather than internal conclusions. That means that they follow facts, objective data, and generally accepted principles above their own reasoning and consistency. They believe that this objectively-oriented intellectual formula reflects the true order of the world and that it should be universally accepted and applied - a ‘world law’, as Jung called it. This formula dictates what is good and evil, moral and immoral, beautiful and ugly, etc. The validity of everything is dictated by how well it fits the ET’s intellectual frameworks. They consider their conclusions universally valid and necessary for others to obey. They apply themselves and others to it. They view exceptions from the formula as imperfections that must be corrected, dismissed, or eliminated, as they ruin the order of things. They are oftenly perceived as arrogant and their approach is dogmatic, hypercritical, and forceful, as they feel the need to apply others to their system. But this excessive focus on objectivity and empirical truths causes them to become overly rigid, not paying attention to the more nuanced aspects of life. Their formula does not capture the full complexity of life, it’s full of blind spots. They might consider personal feelings, adventurous and aesthetic pursuits, or emotional experiences as irrelevant and irrational, suppressing them because of it. They are unaware of their own emotional needs, the area of internal feeling is unconscious and repressed, causing internal conflicts and unconscious distress. They can become cold, impersonal, and neglectful in personal relationships, they might even ignore their own mental wellbeing. Similarly to the Introverted Thinker, they become more isolated and alienated the more they focus on intellectual pursuits and the more rigid they become. Their unconscious and repressed emotions manifest in irrational and bothersome ways, such as secret selfish motives or internal contradictions to their conscious ideals and formula. They may act against their own ethical values, consciously trying to eliminate them. An example of this might be using dishonesty to promote a ‘greater truth’ in their view. They tend to be self-righteous and intolerant of opposing viewpoints, as they contradict the absolute truth in their perception. They refuse to acknowledge the downsides of their intellectual formula. They might become fanatic and overly rigid in their reasoning. They can interpret opposition to their formula as personal attacks. Their repressed emotions can cause bitterness, resentment, or hostility towards those who oppose their views. They might think of their ideas as the absolute truth, having a superstitious approach to their conclusions. They can use personal attacks and become overly aggressive and dismissive to defend their stance. The more certain they are in their own conclusions, the more unconsciously doubtful they become, leading to an internal polarity and conflict. When their repressed emotions resurface, they can start producing irrational conclusions contradicting their intellectual formula, having a split between conscious logic and internal values. sources: https://typologydarkweb.site/jungian
