Ariadne has many similar traits with Isabella of France, who was the queen of England through her marriage to Edward II. Politically astute with a high intelligence, Isabella was called the “wolf” and known for her beauty, sleek black hair, and strong will. Isabella is likely Ari’s real life historical counterpart except that her name went to Isabella de Mare, Ari’s sister, who was inspired by lady Lucretia Borgia. After coming back from her unfortunate and tragic death, Ariadne is building up a thorough plot to exact revenge and to live a better life herself.
