I think she missed the whole point of the scandal she and her cohorts were involved in. It did not matter whether it was true or not; it was that she made that comment so callously and with such disregard for the rights and lives of others. It shows that she thought so little of those who had different views from her that she thought nothing of making a casual joke about killing them (which, judging from what we have seen of her, she probably would have no qualms with if it actually were a thing at the time). To put it in the simplest of terms, she hurt a lot of people's feelings and just didn't care, because she thought of herself and others in the upper echelons of her group as "better" or "more enlightened," and therefore their lives and opinions are just worth more in general than others. And to make things worse, she actually goes through with it (instead of acknowledging what she said could have been hurtful/offensive and apologizing for it), all because she was triggered by a few online comments. And she essentially blames them for her being fired and her group hunting them. No, it wasn't true because they made it so, but because you made it so, Athena! Crystal was right: she did not care about the truth, but rather the "truth" she constructed where she was the victim. There is a lot of irony in how she used Animal Farm as her inspiration; it would appear that in her worldview "some animals are more equal than others." There are those who feel they can say and do what they want, but they do not like it when similar criticism is directed at them, so they twist it and make the other side look bad so they themselves do not have to take any accountability for their words or actions; Athena Stone was one of them.
