I feel it's evident that Dostoevsky created Alyosha (and to that extent the entire novel) as a response to the sociopolitical problems that plagued Russia in the late 19th century. Alyosha's frenemy, for example, Ratikin (who is an unhealthy INTJ), is the inverse of Alyosha, and more represents the cultural zeitgeist at the time: He is constantly trying to destroy Alyosha's faith, belittling him for not fitting in, gloating his own pseudo-intellectualism, bringing up social and political issues constantly, and general overall disdain for Alyosha's unyielding faith and outlier personality. Alyosha—who does not get swept into the external demands of society, does not exhibit tribal validation, and does not socially fit in with the times—is a positive ideal and model for the importance of self-values. This sentiment of Alyosha’s prioritization of self-values against the conformist social spectrum of 19th century Russia is apparent in his conversation with Koyla later in the novel: “You are like every one else,” said Alyosha, in conclusion, “that is, like very many others. Only you must not be like everybody else, that's all.” “Even if every one is like that?” “Yes, even if every one is like that. You be the only one not like it. You really are not like every one else, here you are not ashamed to confess to something bad and even ridiculous. And who will admit so much in these days? No one. And people have even ceased to feel the impulse to self-criticism. Don't be like every one else, even if you are the only one.” Also, I’m seeing various stereotypes on this page in favor of INFJ. Predicting things, having spiritualism and understanding others ≠ Ni dom—anyone with Ne can do these things as well. Ni is a highly over-romanticized and this is a good video explaining Ni more in detail: https://youtu.be/m8UlqJxSqLU. Additionally, wanting to help those around you and understand others emotions ≠ Fe—Fi is more than capable of this as well. I do not see Alyosha organizing his concepts nor unwilling to explore new ideas or possibilities—his Ne, after all, is his main reason for joining the monastery.
