I totally understand Why some people would vote her ISFJ, especially compared to Carson and voting by letters. But what you see as Fe is actually healthy well developed Fi. Fe users absorb the external mood, often have a strong sense of what is socially appropriate and are naturally emotionally expressive (like Cora, Lavinia or even Robert). Mrs Hughes on the other hand keeps most of her emotions to herself. She appears almost cold on the outside, but has strong values and is deeply loyal if one gets to know her. Most of her actions and arguments with Carson scream Fi. Like when he wants to have their wedding in Downton with the whole family and stuff and she stubbornly refuses, as she wants that one day just for herself and him and how they like it. Or her very chill and tolerant treatment of Thomas, not caring around the Social Stigma of homosexuality, because she knew men like that before and make her own Moral judgment. I could name countless other examples. I think people on this sieht often struggle with mistyping healthy ISTJ as ISFJ. Healthy ISTJ can be intense, caring and compassionate. They are not robots. I love ISFJs and I love Mrs Hughes, but she is just a healhy ISTJ.
