THE most adaptive coach in NBA history. It's actually insane how many great teams Rick has coached over the years and how easily distinguishable they are from one another. He started out by building the early 2000s Pistons' identity of great defense and team-oriented play which would carry on throughout the decade even after he got fired due to friction with the front office. He would then bring this same philosophy to the Pacers (Artest era, not the current one), instantly turning them into title contenders and more than likely would've won the 2005 title if not for the infamous Malice at the Palace incident. When he came to Dallas, he would make some adjustments to his approach and went from being known as a defensive-minded coach to an offensive guru, helping Dirk extend his prime years and later on raise up the talents of Luka Doncic and now Tyrese Haliburton and the other young players of the current Pacers. He 100% should make the Hall of Fame one day and much, MUCH better as a coach than Doc Rivers.
