He is enneagram 3. Not stereotypical one, just hear me out. He lacks dominating nature and thirst for control of 8, it's hard to miss. In fact he is more of "mommy's perfect boy", which all 3s are in their heart of hearts tbh. Lucy chastizes him through the series for following others' dreams, in fact getting to the Moon is Lucy's dream, not his. And why did he do it? Because he is 3 and changes himself in order to be perfect in eyes of others. First it was mom and he made himself in image of perfect son and student. He studied in Arasaka academy just fine, straight A student. If not for that little accident he would even finish it with honors without a doubt. Then it was his gang. Molded himself perfectly to it. Exercizing, making himself perfect asset for the gang, bothering others for new job, not only to make money but to establish himself as worthy member of a gang. Installing more and more chrome to be more successful edgerunner. Just look at his face when he brought all these stolen shards to Lucy, waiting for a praise, like straight A student in a school after a good answer. What a good boy! I am not sure about wing though, we can argue for both 2 and 4. I settled for 4 because of - "I am special" Thinking about it maybe Edgerunners got 3 struggle somewhat right. It is almost painful to see David installing things that will kill him in order to appear "successful". He doesnt want to see that he is enough as he is. He doesnt believe Lucy and Rebecca, when they show him time and time again they love him just the way he is. And it is main enneagram 3 lesson to understand.

David Martinez is an edgerunner and former highschool student. He is the main protagonist of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He lived with his mother in the Santo Domingo district of Night City and attended the prestigious Arasaka Academy despite him and his mother's financial struggles, which made him not fit in well with the rest of his more privileged classmates - a fact that he was very aware of. After his mother is killed in a gang-related driving accident, David turns to a life of crime and becomes an edgerunner with Lucy and the rest of Maine's crew. He is shown to have a high tolerance for cybernetic implants - a notable example being the Sandevistan he uses throughout the series without many major side effects. He is very protective of the people he holds dear and vows to fight for the dreams of others, even if it means risking his life in the process.
