I love Carver's work, but this is such a mistype. Carver's stories were HEAVILY edited by Gordon Lish, who would sometimes take passages of over a hundred words down to only a few ten. This is what gave Carver the reputation for minimalism, which Carver himself rejected. He broke off with Lish because of this. Lish, if you ask me is absolutely an INTJ. But Carver I think is an INFP. Carver was wholly concerned first and foremost with representing the working class people and way of life he saw in his home town. He was deeply tied to his roots and always saw his work as being connected to those people. I see his willingness to put to paper the lives of everyday working class Americans he grew up with as Fi-Si, rather than Ni-Fi.
