It makes me uncomfortable, as if they were expecting a reaction from me, but as I don't show a reaction they become more emotional, and it goes on and onnn- help. But when the person being too emotional is not expecting a reaction but just expressing itself in a very emotional way, even though it's hard to admit, it makes me impotent or distressed to see how can someone be so emotional and in touch with their own feelings, so in that case I will ignore the person or try to change the topic to something more impersonal.
