Paulie's not much of a mystery, he's a pretty clear and standard ESFP 6w7 (contrasting Sam and Tommy's 6w5), but I think he's a particularly great example of his type in a very well-written narrative. Where they're so and sp-first types, Paulie's the counterphobic one. He's impulsive, he's chaotic, he's loud. At first I thought he was a 7, but his final arc and his train speech reveal the 6 and his auxiliary Fi. The Se is clear, this is a guy who's desperately chasing a rush and sensation, but towards the end he has a little Fi crisis of 'what do I want? what would give me meaning and make me happy?'. I wish I had a transcript, and I'm not able to transcribe it at the moment, but it's a great conversation he has with Tom. Paulie's a great example of a male ESFP, and I like seeing an ESFP function in the crime world, which is usually composed of Te-doms, xSTPs, and the occasional INTJ. Great character.
