Antinous is a textbook ESTP, but operating in an incredibly unhealthy, shadow state. Extraverted Sensing (Se) - Dominant Function Unhealthy ESTPs are entirely ruled by immediate sensory indulgence, luxury, and physical dominance. They live fully in the present moment, obsessing over status, pleasure, and wealth. Antinous doesn't care about the long term future of Ithaca or the spiritual weight of Zeus' law. He consumes Odysseus' estate, wears the most luxurious silks, and physically bullies those weaker than him. He reacts purely to what is right in front of his eyes. Introverted Thinking (Ti) - Auxiliary Function This is where his calculated, transactional nature comes from. Ti seeks a logical loophole to gain a practical advantage. Antinous truly believed Odysseus was dead and that his lies would never catch up to him. He couldn't foresee the macro level consequence of betraying Sinon's family. When the hidden truth (the wooden stick) physically manifests in front of him, he suffers a complete Ni paranoia spike - his mind layout completely shatters because he can no longer control the narrative. Making him get into a full defensive attitude and denial of any complex interpretation people may reflect at him.
